In our school we recognise that children are motivated to learn when they are interested in the themes and subjects they are learning. In order to find out what our children want to learn and are interested in we consult with children on an annual basis to create our Children’s Charter.
It involves asking the following questions:
What would you like to learn?
What helps you to learn?
How do you learn best?
Outdoor learning – do you like it? What activities do you like doing outdoors?
What else would you like to do?
The responses to these questions are then used by staff to plan, where possible, themes, activities and projects that children will find motivating and engaging.
