The main and side doors open at 8:50 am, or as soon as the daily staff briefing has finished. The children come into the school by the door nearest to their classroom. Pupils and parents are greeted by staff stationed by each entrance:
Pupils should hang up their coats then go straight to their classrooms where they will self register and have time for quiet independent activities. The class teacher or TA will fill in the registration sheet, dinner register and collect any money at 9 am. All pupils should be in school by 9am. Registers close at 9:10 when the first lesson begins.
The side doors will be closed at 9am and children arriving after this time, will have to enter the school via the main entrance and will be recorded in the late book by either Mrs Barlow, Mrs Ibison or Miss Liddle. Lateness is monitored very carefully by the attendance team in school. If you are often late, you may be contacted by one of them.
Y6 children will escort younger children who are late to their classes.
At the end of the day teachers/ cover staff will supervise their pupils leaving the building and check that there are no children left in the building or on the playground. Pupils not collected on time will be supervised by the member of staff with responsibility for them. If a parent is more than 5 minutes late, the child will be taken to the school office and telephone the parent/emergency contact.
The Learning Mentors, Nurture staff and family support worker are available at the start and ends of the day to deal with any arising issues.
